ELECTRONIC IMAGING PROFILES ---
Lewis County - ( Chehalis,Washington)
Lewis County wanted to preserve historic drawings, tracings and maps dating back to the late 1890’s. At the same time they wanted to retrieve these documents through an electronic means to make staff and customer inquiries easy. Lewis County contacted COMSTOR to see if Scanning Services could help with their vision.
Through the use of electronic imaging with Alchemy from Captaris, COMSTOR has incorporated quick access for document viewing, downloading for printing, distribution or attachment to e-mail messages. A quote from Matt Hyatt, GIS Analyst, Dept of Public Works:
"Thank you for your patience, persistence, & hard work in working cooperatively with us to find the best scanning solutions for our difficult historical pieces. The images will serve fantastically as working replacements for originals that can now be preserved. Our toughest critic is impressed with the quality, noting that he can interpret the images better than the originals in many cases."
Richland School District (Richland,Washington)
The Richland School District wanted to improve their retrieval time, eliminate file cabinets, and avoid lost documents that were involved with the document life cycle of the school’s enrollment cards. The District contacted COMSTOR to see if Scanning Services could help with their internal productivity. Rich Puryear, Executive Director of Financial Services in the District offered these comments:
“Scanning Services from COMSTOR, utilizing Alchemy, offers us rapid retrieval and greater utilization of space. Scanning has become a “Teacher’s Pet” investment. COMSTOR is terrific to work with for all our imaging needs.”
United States Postal Service Spokane District
The USPS Spokane wanted to improve retrieval service, eliminate file cabinets, and avoid lost documents. The Spokane USPS office contacted COMSTOR to see if electronic imaging (scanning) services could help with their internal productivity. According to Jim Sykes of the Spokane District Human Resources Office:
“Scanning Services with COMSTOR is not a “Pony Express” investment! Labor relations can be a very stressful business with many demands upon our time. Having our case files scanned and on CD provides quick and ready access to information. COMSTOR’s scanning service which allows us to use Alchemy for retrieval reduces a complicated paper file look-up down to a few key strokes.”
